Tegan Broadwater
Deep Cover Operative, CEO, Author, Show Host, Musician
Tegan’s thrived inside worlds most people only talk about from the outside.
“I don’t try to change minds, just deepen them.” — Tegan
Tegan Broadwater was performing in clubs by age 14, studied jazz at the prestigious University of North Texas School of Music, and spent 13 years as a working musician before cutting his hair and doing another 13 years with the Fort Worth Police Department.
He went on to spend seven of those years working undercover, two of them deep cover, inside a violent Crip organization for the FBI. And he did it in his own backyard, in the city where his wife and young son lived, which meant he and Holli needed a plan for the day they ran into that
world in public. Operation Fishbowl ended with 51 convictions, an FBI Case of the Year
nomination, a U.S. Attorney Commendation, and a FWPD Officer of the Year.
He then built Tactical Systems Network, a high-end armed security and protection firm in Fort Worth, Texas, now with 80+ employees, most of them military veterans. He authored the popular book, Life in the Fishbowl, a true account of those harrowing undercover years, and
gives every dollar of profit to charities that mentor children of incarcerated parents.
A new book is on the way. He hosts The Tegan Broadwater Podcast, was a staff writer for the 80k+ subscriber SOFREP Magazine, and still records music as Tee Cad… his former undercover name.
On stage, the stories do the work. Underneath them he talks about starting over at any age, finding a reason bigger than yourself, saying the hard thing without losing the room, what a
grudge costs the person carrying it, why good people walk away from institutions they once believed in, and the kind of awareness and intuition that keeps people alive.
He’s started over more than once. None of them came with a backup plan.
